For immediate release – 20 April 2016
A stamp exploring the theme ‘Think Green’ will be released by Guernsey Post on 6 May as part of the 2016 Europa issue.
Every year, European postal administrations are given a stamp issue title to interpret and illustrate by PostEurop, the trade association that has been representing European postal operators since 1993.
Guernsey Post was one of twenty-four postal administrations from across Europe to submit a design based around the ‘Think Green’ theme and its stamp, supplied by PostEurop, depicts the difference between a green and a polluted environment.
Bridget Yabsley, acting head of philatelic at Guernsey Post explains: - “The theme of the 2016 Europa stamp issue is "Ecology in Europe - Think Green", so this is the ideal time to share the news that Guernsey Post recently won a Keep Guernsey Green Award, which recognises those businesses that demonstrate best practice in energy conservation and waste management.”
The stamp is
available to pre-order
from 25 April by visiting www.guernseystamps.com or by contacting philatelic customer
